That is such a bizarre thing for them to write. Shows the GB's perception of what goes through publishers' heads when they stroll among those mere mortals. The Society has likened the GB as wrongly regarded with celebrity status in one WT a few years ago. Now they've bumped it up to angelic status. What's next? "We should try our hardest not to bow before the Governing Body as though they are manifestations of Jehovah himself. Instead, we should humbly lick the soles of their shoes."

episode 325 of "thanks god i'm athiest" has a great segment that is so reminiscent of jw judicial committee judgement!.

starting at approx.

51 minute mark, the guys highlight the example of a mormon lady who faced their equivalent judicial judgement for "apostasy" for "not being obedient, and negatively speaking publicly" about her ordeal.. it also highlights the culture of their insular community (so similar to jws insular community!).

I listened in last night. For those of you who aren't able to wait 51 minutes, I'll fill you in. A Mormon woman was done wrong by her husband (he was having an "emotional affair" with another woman). They filed for divorce. Distraught by the breach of trust and in need to process what was going on, she confided in her friends (all fellow Mormons). However, the lady would have these back room meetings with her "bishop" (not sure what the clergy terms are in the LDS) where he would advise her to SHUT. HER. MOUTH. She was not to mention her husband's transgression and the collapse of their marriage to anyone. She said she had no one else to talk to, though. And that was exactly the bishop's point.

Her need to acknowledge her marital breakdown was seen as "causing divisions" in their congregation. She was asked to follow the example of her ex-husband, who - naturally - was keeping tight-lipped about the situation. It was easy for her ex husband not to talk about it - he was his own red face to hide in shame after being caught.

When one of her close friend's reported her to the church hierarchy for still speaking about her hurt feelings, she was hauled into the back room yet again. This time, she recorded it. The bishop revoked her temple rights, or something, which sounded like the equivalent of being reproved. The idea is to shame the wayward Mormon - one strike away from being ex-communicated. This harsh treatment of her was what prompted the woman to research her group and realize that they can keep her "temple rights" and go to hell. She was up and out of there for good.

The laziness of JW parents....

it struck me that the society has created a culture of lazy jw parenting.. rather than parents being there to guide and direct and help their children through all stages of life, the gb / society has become the "go-too" for everything.. if the child has an issue, there is a wt article for that.. does the child need help with something else?

ah, there is a caleb and sophia cartoon for that.. what about that other topic?

ah, there is a book for that.. so rather than being present parents, the average jw parent simply outsources their parenting to the organization!

Well, since our children are simply property of the organization (yeah, y'all saw THAT moment of the Feb '18 broadcast), it makes sense that we'd take instructions off of seven elderly dudes. And what kind of child does that create? We had a fine opportunity to get inside the ideal JW child's head in the broadcast, when the two ~~props~~ ~~pedo bait~~ boys were brought out and asked for ideas for the next Caleb and Sophia cartoon.

Both wanted to see their role model, Caleb, get ganged up on, bullied and humiliated by cartoon classmates.

Because that's what every healthy child hopes and anticipates for.

Only JW kids, I swear. There's nothing normal about their outlook, thanks to cult programming.
